Introducing Owen Gildersleeve

We are thrilled to welcome British paper artist Owen Gildersleeve to Cube Gallery. Trained in graphic design, Owen crafts intricate, hand-cut works that layer sheets of paper into sweeping tonal gradients, building compositions with a strong graphic sensibility.

With meticulous precision, Owen harnesses the tactile qualities of paper to translate digital concepts into tangible, physical objects. By intentionally restricting his colour palettes, he focuses sharply on the interplay between minimal form and bold colour, resulting in a crisp, clean finish. His pieces sit on the boundary between the digital and the handmade, pairing rigid geometric lines and intersections with the subtle, organic warmth of human craftsmanship.

Owen has exhibited extensively around the world, with solo and group shows spanning San Francisco, Tokyo, New York, Bangkok, Amsterdam, Berlin, and London. In 2025, he was also awarded the Homiens Art Prize in New York.
