Artist focus: Hildegard Pax
This month’s artist in focus, Hildegard Pax, forges stunning glasswork in a variety of shapes and colours, as she intelligently plays with light and shadow to create something visually unique.
Through a careful process of sandblasting, cutting, and placement, this artist uses different types of glass including dichroic, textured, and architectural, to create playful, precise works. Each piece changes according to the angle it’s being viewed, as well as throughout the day, with natural light creating more vibrant or muted tones - adding another layer of intrigue and mystery to her work.
