Artist focus: KATE BRETT
Kate Brett, our artist in focus this month, creates miniature vessels that embody the clays natural movements and rhythms as they’re being thrown, glazed, and fired, as well as her more recent series featuring Fortune Sticks. Each outcome, though guided, are a surprise to the artist as they reveal little wobbles, cracks, and hints of colour and gold leaf.
Being displayed in a hand-crafted wooden frame, Kate creates whimsical forms that are each unique in texture, colour, and shape.
