This January, Cube Gallery is presenting a two-artist curation in our downstairs showroom, featuring the dynamic works of Hélène Morbu and Penny Leaver Green.
Hélène’s sculptural ceramics draw inspiration from ancient architecture and Art Deco design; she transforms clay into intricately textured surfaces that play with light and shadow. Her “Faraday” series highlights her mastery of elegant forms and detailed patterns.
These are complimented by Penny’s textile-based works, using vintage kimono silks that merge contemporary themes with traditional Japanese aesthetics. Her compositions, such as those in the “Seasonal Ikebana” series, evoke harmony in their study of the shifting light and colours of each season.
Together, their works explore the dialogue between texture and light, tradition and innovation.
