Overview

After the success of Bak Chiang's solo exhibition at Cube Gallery in 2018, we're pleased to announce his next exhibition, 'Wrinkles in Time', featuring 12 new works on canvas and 5 on rice paper.

In this new series, the artist explores themes that express the relationships between the ephemeral and more permanent features found in the natural environment, a juxtaposition between the landscape and the life that lives in it.

From Bak Chiang's work we are given these wonderful, multi-faceted formations that inspire ideas of balance, sturdiness, and shape, often coupled with whimsical birds painted in motion. These birds are inspired by the red-whiskered Bulbuls, native to South-East Asia, bridging a connection between the artist and his roots.
