Emma Harcourt
Emma has worked in the arts field for over 20 years as an advisor, curator and gallery owner. Her interest surrounds colour field work; Emma is able to put colour and shape together in a way that is both harmonious and intriguing. At first glance her paintings seem simple, but on closer examination the juxtaposition of shade and shape throws up some unexpected contrasts and parallels.
Often working to commission, Emma develops pieces for a given space alongside input from the client.
Emma lives and works in the UK, preferring to develop the shape of her stand alone paintings late at night, often in to the early hours when all is quiet. Colour is refined during the daylight hours, next to large windows in her home studio.
Exhibited in Europe, the States and the UK, her paintings are now part of private collections worldwide.
